How to test
Alright, here is how you start, first thing you need is a standard size flashlight.
This test should be done at night when it is very dark in the room.

As you notice I have two black area's one at the top of this page and one at the bottom.
You will be using these diagrams to judge what condition you have detected!
Take the flash light while you are in the dark room and turn it on.
You will see the light in that room, now what you need to do here
is place you eyes just behind the front of the flashlight.

You should see a beam of light from the front of the flashlight
here is what you are looking for, you should start seeing dust particles floating through
this beam of light, when you see something like the top digram than this is bad.

You need to take fast action to get this in check!
You want to see something like you see in the bottom digram.

While you are still testing you need to
start shaking and tapping all the material in your room at this point to see what area's that you need to keep in check at all times!
For hard wood flooring lower the flash light beam at a level to where you can see the surface of your flooring you may see more dust than when you where standing.
Carpet is a hard call, I would advise you to beat your carpet with a
stick to see what is popping up, when you do not see a lot of air born
particles you are safe, but when you do see a large amount of particles
you need to make a check on that area to do more about the situation for
to much dust!

Keep in mind that you will always see particles floating through the light, but you should aim to
keep it looking like the bottom digram as much as possible!
Or better!

Moisture can help your sinus!
Look up moisture and the sinus.

In the winter for small units
when you have dry heat or duct heat keep a bowl or pan of water close
to the heat source and keep it fresh!
You can use it every week
to water plants, and that keeps the water fresh.

When you have a big home than you
should have a moisture system in your air and heat
unit that will take care of this situation built in.

Also keep a dust mask on when testing!

This test should be done whenever you like.
I do my test at least every other week.
Just remember!
Dust starts at a certain point, where? This is a good question to ask yourself. That is why you need to do this nessary inspection to find this point of where you will see the most accumulation of dust in your home.
Without the inspection you will never know were the dust is building up most in your home and it will just keep building, so when you do the inspection starting at the vent closes to the furnace when you have one that is where you may see the starting point, however when you do not have a furnace you need too find out jus
t were the most buildup of dust is beginning.

And not knowing where dust is coming from can be very unhealthy!!!

Do yourself and your family this favor.
Check your air quality for too much dust as soon as possible!!!

Thanks again for your time!

Your air quality should get better after you do a few session of testing!
fair to good

correct angle
As I mention, your eyes should be just behind the head of the flashlight
looking through the light. This is just one way of using the flashlight,
however as you use the
flashlight more, you will find other methods
to check for dust. Myself I use it after I do my
vacuuming and beam the light on all
differnet types of surfaces'!
